I didn’t realize that becoming a small business owner in 2025 required me to become an influencer (and other stories)
I think the title says a lot.
My mission in starting Snarky Sojourns is to empower women to have more fun with their friends without spending a gazillion hours on Pinterest or roaming the aisles of Target. To help folks realize that you don’t even have to have a good idea. You just need to steal one of ours! Copy, copy, copy, click, click, click.
But these days, it’s damn hard to help people if they don’t know about you.
I find out about things in three ways:
Nicole tells me we should try something.
Heather tells me that we should try something.
Doom scrolling Instagram.
So, obviously, to help more women, I have two options. I can either ask Nicole and Heather to meet every woman in the world, or I have to become an influencer.
Right now, I think I’m pretty bad at it, but I’m committed to trying. I took a course that taught me all sorts of fancy terms like “demand generation” and told me that I don’t have to post every day to start getting the word out. (Thank god. It takes me a really long time to copy and edit these Canva templates and post them, people!)
I hold out hope that it’ll get easier as I commit to a content strategy. Pray for me.
In the meantime, the dream team has agreed that a summer Yacht Rock bash on a pontoon boat will be happening. I can’t wait to start putting together the wishlists and invite template. It’s going to be so much fun!
